I've been watching a lot of animated shows this year and I've left most of them feeling quite underwhelmed. I'm not saying every show this year has been terrible because I have enjoyed some seasons of cartoons. For example, I liked Looney Tunes Cartoons, Season 1 of Kid Cosmic, the second half of Amphibia's second season, Season 3 of Paradise P.D., Disenchantment Part 3, and Season 3 of Final Space (even if it wasn't as interesting as it once was). There are also seasons of shows that I found to be just fine like Season 4 of Infinity Train, Season 5 of F is for Family, and Season 1 of Chicago Party Aunt. But more often than not, I've been disappointed in what the animated community had to offer in 2021. New shows like Inside Job and M.O.D.O.K. and returning shows like Lower Decks made me angry because they repeated the same tired jokes present in most adult cartoons (drugs, sex, references, etc).
